Anya’s wish for a normal date—away from the old man she is caretaker for—comes true in unexpected ways when she finds herself whisked to an ancient Irish stone circle on solstice eve.

Carrick’s decision to follow the path to become an Ovate druid has not come lightly, and he plans to spend the solstice eve in meditation unless fairies or evil spirits disrupt the circle. When a feisty girl walks right up to the fire, more than sparks fly.

They each seek healing and a connection, but the darkness of summer is short, and once the solstice sun breaks through the circle at dawn, the magic of the night will be over. Even Madame Eve can’t stop the day from rising.

Druid Mine 1 Night Stand Series Book 121 edition by Kerry Adrienne Romance eBooks Reviews

Like the other books in Decadent Publishing's 1Night Stand series this one provides a pleasant interlude with likable characters and sensually satisfying interludes. Druid, Mine is a pleasant treat that gives a few hours of enjoyment while being whisked away from all your troubles.

Anya's a likable woman who's letting life pass her by until she makes the decision to have Madame Eve find her the perfect man. Anya's lonely and is willing to do whatever it takes to find her match. To find the perfect man requires a visit back in time, which only throws her off for a minute or two. She's easily accepting of it all. Carrick too is at a crossroads as to his future. He wants to have an important place in their society and is willing to become celibate for it. He's lonely though too and not sure he wants to give up true love. He's extremely sexy and extremely caring, everything a woman could want. They quickly make a sexual connection but I never felt a strong mental/personal connection. I was happy they got together, but I didn't find their coming together to be that satisfying. It felt like there was something missing.

Druid, Mine was a pleasant dessert after a long day. I found much to recommend it, but ultimately didn't feel it was as satisfying as other books in the series. I definitely will read more from Kerry Adrienne as her last two 1Night Stand series releases were full of promise.
The story of Druid, Mine sounds a lot like the one from the first book in Kerry Adrienne's All Mine series. And it's almost as much fun the second time around. But not quite.

Anya seeks out Madame Eve's services because she just wants a normal date...and she doesn't have any way of getting one when all of her time is taken up being caretaker to an old man. He's not family, it's a job. But she's traded security for any chance at her own life. Why, we don't know.

Carrick is a mystery. He the druid in this story, and he's just about to take his vows as an Ovate. Vows that will cut him off from his own society, but will allow him to travel in time, something he does believe in.

There's that sticky time thing again. We don't know exactly when Carrick is in time, but he's way closer Darius than to us, both in time and in location. Carrick is in what we will call Ireland, and maybe less than a century before Darius' Rome in Senator, Mine. And he has even less idea what he's in for than Darius did. But he is questioning whether he's ready to take his vows.

Carrick is tending the fires the night before the Summer Solstice, just outside a standing stone circle. It's the longest night. From his perspective, one of the fay asks him if he wants one last night with a woman, before he has to be celibate forever. He's a man, of course he says yes.

Anya is dropped off on in the middle of his lonely vigil. She knows she contracted for a 1Night Stand. She did not expect Carrick, or time travel.

They each get one perfect, beautiful night. A glorious sunrise directly over the standing stones of the henge. And a choice that comes all too soon.

Escape Rating B- The relationship between Anya and Carrick is sensuous and beautiful, but the problem is that as a love story, this just wasn't complete for me. Senator, Mine may have needed less backstory because the Roman period is so familiar. The Celtic Druids are very mysterious, and not a lot is known. With such a short story, the problem is that not a lot is known about Carrick's background or the choices he is facing. We know he's unhappy, but why? What is driving him to this lonely life? Being ripped out of time is a desperate choice, even for love. I needed to know more to make this work as well as Senator, Mine, but I still had fun with the parts of the story that encapsulated their night by the henge.

The perfect man. Does he exist? What if the answer is yes, but not in your time, but the ancient past? Madame Eve has matched another couple who seem to be perfect for each other, but how do they make it work?

Anya is a lonely and overworked woman in present day North Carolina. With the exception of her weekly visit to an Irish Pub, she has little interaction with anyone other than her boss, and has signed up for the 1Night Stand service in hopes of finding a man who could at least share her bed, if nothing more.

Carrick is a Druid in ancient Ireland. Devoted to becoming an Ovate, his life is seemingly predestined for loneliness, despite his lingering doubts as to what is right for him. On the eve of the Solstice, his duty is to tend to the fires. He doesn't expect to have company.

I thoroughly enjoy the 1Night Stand stories, not only because of the heat level, but because there are wonderful characters and story development in such a few, short pages. Druid, Mine, however, left me wanting a bit more. I could understand the initial connection between the two characters - both were lonely, both lacked family or friends, and both were attracted to the other - but there didn't seem to be much beyond that. To imagine two characters from such dramatically different times and places, I wouldn't discount a relationship working, but there'd have to be a reason for it. Loneliness and attraction isn't enough, particularly when one has to have their world so drastically changed in order to continue together.

Ms. Adrienne does have a wonderful way of describing her environment. I know little of the time of the Druids, but the context of her story helped me to catch on quickly as to what was happening. I wasn't clear on all of the things described, but I was able to picture enough to enjoy the story and had a mental picture of where and when the couple was.

If I was to review the book based solely on their one night, it was a huge hit. It was the happily ever after that left me scratching my head. If you're looking for a hot hook up, set wonderfully in ancient times, this is could be one to look into.
